For some kids, they’ve overcome unbelievable odds just to be here today. Whether it’s open heart surgery 2 hours after they were born or a kidney transplant at age 6, these kids have a spirit like no other. The Make-A-Wish Foundation has been giving thousands of kids the opportunity to meet their favorite celebrity, be a firefighter for a day, or in recent memory, Batkid. Through Make-A-Wish and SportsCenter, the two have teamed up to help kids meet their favorite athletes. The week long segment has been airing this week on ESPN during SportsCenter and some of the videos really pull at your heart strings.
