Let me be clear, I am all about Tyrod Taylor, well much more than EJ Manuel. In my perfect world, we would’ve traded EJ long ago for some draft picks, had the QB battle between Taylor and Matt Cassel. I just haven’t been an EJ fan, he’s always looked inconsistent and never has showed any confidence in the pocket. And now, Taylor has grabbed the bull by the horns and has made a serious impression, one that has stood out among the Buffalo Bills fans and coaches.
Although it was just preseason, Taylor completed 24 out of 31 passes, totaling 236 yards, not too shabby. T-Mobile is quick in the pocket and has the blessing of his legs to help him move so nimbly it’s how he got the nickname T-Mobile. He’s not afraid to run around to either get a first down, touchdown, or allow more time for wide receivers to get open. He understands the game of football and most importantly, this new offense.
Keeping Cassel as the number 2 quarterback is the best idea, after all, wasn’t that basically why he was brought in? A strong, veteran quarterback who can be used in case of emergency? It seems that now most of the pieces are fitting together for the Bills. The next problem: Who makes the 53 man roster.
