I have a special treat for you! WWE Monday Night Raw is at the First Niagara Center this Monday the 28th. If you’re going, I’ll see you there (I’ll be wearing my “I’m a Paul Heyman Guy” t-shirt). I got the opportunity to interview a WWE Superstar to promote the event. I didn’t know quite what to expect going in, though it definitely ended up getting a little intense. My favorite EPL team is Tottenham Hotspur, though that’s mostly because I closed my eyes and pointed when trying to find a favorite team. They’ve been solid this season, so in that regard, it’s worked out okay. However, they’re a bit lacking in another department. They were honoring Wayne Gretzky recently, though maybe should have done some double-checking before the ceremonies.
Yesterday was the anniversary of one of the most legendary press conference rants of all time. “I’m a man! I’m 40!” Mike Gundy, while still a man, is 48 now, and looking back on that fateful day, it all turned out pretty well. He claims it’s improved recruiting and the program as a whole. This feels like good news and bad news. On one hand, coaches may try to hard to get a rant to go viral, and will look awful and cringeworthy as a result. On the other hand, that sounds even more hilarious.
We lost a great man yesterday. Yogi Berra passed away at 90. As great of a player and manager as he was, 90% of his legacy will be half-mental. His quotes and quips are unforgettable, until you forget them. If you need a quick refresher, here’s 35 of his classic lines.
